If I could bottle up the smell of my house right now, I totally would. The aroma of sweet hemp protein banana bread has completely consumed my entire family today. I think I know the scent of my next candle purchase, or better yet, maybe I will just bake this delicious banana bread daily now. Being raised by well-known bakers has really paid off. Growing up, I completely took for granted the delicious food I was served. As a mother now myself, I am so thankful for the guidance. I rarely walk into my grandmother’s home without the infectious heavenly aroma of homemade baked goods and meals. I hope to follow in her footsteps as a grandmother one day. After baking this afternoon, I came home from picking up my son up from kindergarten walking into my own home full of sweet-smelling memories.
My oldest son, Jaxxen, overheard me planning out my day full of baking and was immediately intrigued with the thought of protein packed banana bread. He loves AMPD Nutrition’s proteins as it is, but he was especially excited to try the Banana Creame flavored protein. Little did he know it would be even more exciting because it’s CBD infused hemp and pea protein! Needless to say, once he smelled the amazing smell of banana bread, he immediately offered it to the neighbor kids out on the driveway to try too. His kind little heart always makes me smile with pride.
We may have eaten the entire loaf between all of us within a few hours! Let me just say that it is amazing! The taste is the perfect amount of banana. It touches the tongue with a mellow, pleasing sweetness. I find some artificial banana flavors too much with almost a synthetic taste, but this was perfect. The protein is naturally banana flavored while the bananas helped give the bread a great texture and consistency. The outer crust wasn’t overly done, and the core was nice and moist with the extra touch of surprise melted chocolate chips found throughout.
With my six-year-old son’s approval, this has now become a wonderful and delicious family snack in our house. We paired it with a pad of coconut-based butter spread, and it melted in our mouths putting smiles on our faces.

Banana Bread Basics
Banana bread requires more patience in the kitchen as its dough is very particular. It cannot be overly mixed, too runny, or too thick and chunky. You want to create a nice sticky paste-like consistency in order for it to bake properly. When choosing bananas for my banana bread, I like the super ripe, almost dark mahogany color banana. You know, they’re the ones you forgot to eat and have become sticky and overly ripe to eat by themselves. You can even smash or slice them, throw them in a freezer, and pull them out to thaw for a nice banana bread baking day.
Storing baked hemp protein banana bread is just as important as creating the perfect dough. Once you have taken the loaf out of the oven, be sure to let it set and cool. I let my loaf sit in its pan for at least five minutes before I transfer it to the cooling rack. Once it has cooled and is ready to be stored, choose an airtight container or fully wrap it in tinfoil or plastic wrap. If it does not fully cool, then the sweat left in the container or wrap will leave a soggy mess. It can be stored up to three to five days.
2 ½ cups gluten free flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp xanthum gum
½ tsp pink Himalayan salt
¾ cup semi-sweet allergen chocolate chips
2 large ripe bananas
½ cup melted coconut oil
½ cup brown sugar
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Spray banana bread pan with cooking olive oil spray.
- Mix dry ingredients: AMPD Nutrition Banana Creame CBD Pro, gluten free flour, brown sugar, baking powder, xanthum gum, and pink Himalayan salt into a large mixing bowl until well incorporated.
- Heat coconut oil in microwave for about 30-60 seconds until it is fully melted.
- Mix wet ingredients. Pour liquid coconut oil over brown sugar until it reaches a smooth consistency into a large mixing bowl. Crack the eggs into the mixture one at a time while constantly stirring until it reaches a smooth consistency. Smash the two bananas into a smooth paste and add to the mixture.
- Combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture while stirring slowly.
- Slowly add the semi-sweet chocolate chips, leaving enough to decorate the top.
- Pour the batter evenly into the greased banana bread pan.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes depending on your oven. Check around 50 minutes by inserting a toothpick into the middle. If it comes out clean, then it is ready. If it does not, keep checking every 3-5 minutes.
- Once the hemp protein banana bread is fully baked, let cool in pan for 5-10 minutes. Then transfer the loaf to a cooling rack.
- Once the hemp protein banana bread has cooled, slice, serve, and enjoy.
- Store the cooled banana bread in an airtight container or wrap in tin foil or plastic wrap. It will keep for 3-5 days.
